Darkness to make impression at the Brits
The Darkness are promising to make a big impression when they perform at tonight's Brit Awards.
Guitarist Dan Hawkins told XFM: "We'll just get up there and rock out I suppose, although we have got quite an interesting stage set that will leave a few people scratching their heads - it certainly left me scratching my head when I saw it.
"It's going to be fun though. It's a really important thing and we're going to be enjoying the whole thing as much as we can."
Hawkins also said the band had already started work on the follow up to Permission To Land.
"We're totally geared up for the next album. Apart from world domination our objective is writing the second album. We're writing it already and we've already got a few real gems.
"It's one of those things, you've got to strike while the iron is hot and we're pretty creative at the moment.
"You'd think we'd be completely devoid of ideas, but in the two days we spent in the studio in Melbourne we had eight ideas, four of which are almost completed songs and two of which we're going to introduce into the live set quite soon. So we're right on course."
The Darkness are up for four Brit awards - Best British Group, Best British Breakthrough, Best British Album and the newly created Best British Rock award.
