Led Zeppelin vs. Van Halen

Clasic VH had alot wannabes, (M. Crue, Poison, Dokken, W.Lion, etc.)
But none of them ever got to be on the same league as clasic VH.
The only band I can think of that can be measured with is Led Zeppelin. They had the same format: lead singer and three muscicioans. I might be too ambitious comparing them to Led Zepp.
I don't see what other similar band can be compared to clasic VH.
I know Im letting out dozen of great bands here, but to my eyes those are probably the most outstanding bands in rock history.
In what area do you think one band was more creative than the other and why?

Although VH, LZ and Black Sabbath are all in the same category, I think they all sound unique, so it's hard to compare them to each other.

In my charts VH, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles are the top of the pops


then the Doors, the Who, Pink Floyd and maybe the Stones...newer bands: Soundgarden was THE BAND but I don't know if I could put it up there, they didn't make that many albums...

Me and my schoolmates have had one visitor from Australia so far...one guy who was on our class two years ago here in Denmark...we did smoke a lot during the school year here in Denmark, he was quite an airhead too...so you're welcome anytime, just don't count too much on the Finweed, it's no good because the border control is so tight and people are more old-fashioned with their attitude towards cannabis-products than anywhere in the world...but we do have lots of great booze, a thousand lakes, best saunas in the world and some beautiful blonde girls...

I'd probably go with Zep, the Who, and Van Halen as my top three Hard Rock bands. If you counted every rock band it'd be more like this...

Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys, Zep, Who, VH, etc. etc.
