    ALAE Tour

I'm really in an ALAE mood these days, have dusted off the album and been playing it full tilt.

How many of you got to see the tour in '91? From what I've heard the European leg was better as there was far more original material played then, and Dave had more set time as he wasn't sharing the bill with Extreme and Cinderella.

I'm also curious to all the songs he played from the album live. I've heard copies of ALAE,Shoot it, Lady Luck, Hammerhead Shark, Tell The Truth, Baby's on Fire, 40 Below and Sensible Shoes. I've also heard he did Last Call and It's Showtime. Anyone got any bootlegs with these songs on?

(I have to admit, I'm not fussed about Last Call but hearing a live copy of Showtime would be amazing).

Thanks for that link vaijuju, ironically that's the video I found on youtube that got my interest back in ALAE when I found it just before christmas.

Does anyone have anymore of that gig? I saw the setlist posted on a site that used to have an active torrent of it, and it looked like there was a good amount of ALAE songs on there.

I saw the ALAE tour at the Birmingham NEC , can't remember much about it other than the seats we had wern't very good and that I bought a t shirt which I wore until it fell off me.

You don't have any bootlegs from that tour do you?

Yes of course it was good it was Dave , I can't say much more about it as it was 18ish years ago but I know I enjoyed the show and the booze.

Saw him at Donington in '88 on the skyscraper , can remember even less about that.

Sounds good. Let's just hope Dave and VH come back to the UK damned soon..

As a friend of mine rightly said to me "Sam, it doesn't matter if I'm free or not, book it and I will come, I will get out of anything to see them/him..."

                  Amen to that.

I have seen that and it's good isn't it?

I also like the videos on there of Jason at NAMM playing what sounds like an early version of Drop in the Bucket.

I saw that tour at G-Mex Manchester. I've seen him solo a few times, and this was OK (but not a patch on seeing him with VH before that)

Did he come to UK for YFLM?

I know he was over here in early 2004 that was just before I got into him and Van Halen, annoyingly.

ALAE was big here(the album, I mean). I mean I saw in one of those hit books that it peaked at No.4 in the UK album charts!

                              Did you see that too?

I don't suppose you have any ALAE bootlegs, I'm desperately looking for UK traders to avoid the hassle of going airmail..
