I saw him twice on the YFLM tour,it was just OK.

I don't have any bootlegs of the ALAE tour, but was intrigued to see the video footage at the start of this thread.

Hey, I saw Dave when the ALAE tour hit Stockholm Sweden on March 15 1991. Great show. Far from sold out but great.

Opened with (a very fast version of) You Really Got Me after the classic VH intro with Big Ed's (Right?) screaming presentation. Then a great setlist including Dave's solo stuff + Panama, Hft, Atbl, Ice Cream Man, Happy Trails, Unchained & Jump.

A lot of fun show stuff, like going on a surfboard in the air from the stage to a boxibg ring in the middle of the arena. Huge legs in fishnets spreading across the stage and so on... if I am not mixing it up with the EEAS tour, but I think not.

      Have the full bootleg. :-)

Dave did play in England, 1994, I have a bootleg, from Aston Civic Hall, Birmingham. He sounds a mile better now, on the You tube videos, on the latest Van Halen tour!

J, I've got that bootleg too, it's good isn't it?

What I really like about it is the amount of ALAE tunes he did in that show, 40 Below and Hammerhead Shark are great! I would love to hear a live version of It's Showtime though...

I've got Milan from later that month if you're interested, although it's on the Guitars101 site still if you want to d/l it direct from there. I think the quality is a bit better than Stockholm, it's alot louder and in your face! He does Sensible Shoes and Tell the Truth though, which don't come across as well as the more uptempo songs from ALAE. You can still get it here http://www.guitars101.com/forums/f62...light=DLR+1991

For all those who are interested.

113, what is the setlist of the YFLM show that you have the boot of? I know what you mean though, Dave does seem to sound better now than he did in the mid '90s!

            Amen to that.
            We can all hope.

            It's unlikely though I think....

There is no such place as Aston Civic Hall , perhaps Wolverhampton?

I also like the videos on there of Jason at NAMM playing what sounds like an early version of Drop in the Bucket.

Because the other times I have seen him, both solo and with VH he has been exceptional.

I just didn't get that tour; probably part of that was seeing a stripped down show and part that I didn't think his voice was that great.
