    Sir Paul McCartney's son James said he would be willing to form a 'next generation' Beatles with the sons of the other band members.


    The 34-year-old said he was "up for it" and John Lennon's son, Sean, and George Harrison's son, Dhani, had also shown support for the idea, although Ringo Starr's son, drummer Zak, was less keen.
    James told the BBC: "I don't think it's something that Zak wants to do.
    "Maybe Jason [another of Starr's sons and also a drummer] would want to do it.
    "I'd be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I'd be happy to do it."
    James said that the idea had already been mooted "a little bit".
    So Macca JR is planning a new band and some of the others are interested...funnee...

    How gifted is George's son? So far, what I know, Ringo's son is a gifted drummer and the only one I've seen live. He could actually back up the Who so backing up a Beatles 2 would be EASY AS HELL. Well, they did have a couple of special beat for drums like "Here comes the sun".

    The idea seems a lot like a disaster, BUT, I know I'd still prefer it over Coldplay, Hagar and Nickelback.

          I'm all for this money making scam McCartney has planned so he get back some of "dosh" Heather robbed from him. My only suggestion would be to replace pudgy Sean with Lennon's first son Julian. It's way too Yoko currently.

                  Sounds like him too.

                  Verily, that song even sounds a little bit like Revolver era Beatles. Which was kind of an awkward era around here, since that was about the time that John said they were more popular than Me. I understood what he meant by it and took no offense at the statement, but many of my so-called "followers" were not so understanding.

                              I think if they do this ridiculous thing, they should choose the children who look most like their fathers. That way they could have a great tribute band that would last for about 5 minutes.

                                  Btw, I saw Scorsese's documentary about George Harrison last weekend. Still pretty much moved by it. I recommend.

                                      By all accounts Harrison was the nicest of all of him.

                                      Plus more important than anything he did musically, without him there would have been no 'Life of Brian'.

                                              Well...a couple of comments.

                                              1. Thank God this thread turned out the way it did, because I thought it was going to be about those dopey tween singers "One Direction", who have been labeled as the "new Beatles." Not because of any talent, mind you, but merely because they're from the UK and make tween girls wet their panties.

                                              2. Macca Jr. is an odd looking fellow. Linda's blonde hair on the Paul face is a funny, albeit not very flattering, combination.

                                              3. The Harrison boy is definitely talented.

                                              4. Give me Julian Lennon instead of Sean Lennon, and I'm sold.
