    Major League Baseball Offseason Transactions

Well...the Yankees are out...which means it's time to watch what happens...

so I'll start with an off the wall thought...

the common thought is that Nomar Garciaparra is headed to Anaheim to play close to his home...and close to his chica...Mia Hamm...

but...what about this for a possible scenario...

there are rumblings...and there always are about every free agent...but this one is coming from the Nomar camp...there are rumblings that Nomar wants to play with his good friends Jeter and Arod...

Is it possible...that the Yankees could field an infield of Giambi at first, Nomah at second, Jeter at Short and ARod at third?

    I say yes...

I also think they'll make a serious run at Beltran...and 2 quality pitchers...

although I think this year's crop is incredibly weak...

if they were smart...and they aren't...but if they were...I'd look at guys like Bernie...and Gordon...and even Rivera...and trade them for YOUNG talent...

right now...the Yanks vaunted minor system is gone...

I expect the Yank payroll to get astronomical...and for a couple of big trades midyear...to get the real pitching they want...

and no...I can't see the Yanks going after Pedro...

    The Sox need Pedro...

they need to lock him in...he's really just a #2 right now...but the best #2 in the game...and go out and get Pavano or Milton to round out that staff...

I wouldn't WANT Pedro. He's not a big game pitcher and he doesn't have the rubber arm he used to. Way to much money for what he is anymore, which is past his prime.

I absolultely can see the Yanks getting Beltran and then shopping Williams.

Well...I don't think they'll get much for Williams...but it depends on who they are shopping to...

I could see a team with some youth being interested in him to solidify a lineup...

he has a weak stick...and an okay glove at this point...but would be a great clubhouse guy...

Obviously you don't want Pedro at 15 million a year...but I disagree with the big game pitcher piece...he was great in game 7 last year...until the seventh...when he should have come out...

yeah...his arm isn't good for more than 7 at this point...but he still is a guy I'd want on my team...

you are right though...it would depend on the price...

I can see the Yanks getting Beltran and Williams becomes a permanent DH.

No way they trade Rivera. He's the best relief pitcher in the history of baseball.

I read this too, also them getting Sosa
as the new DH, trading the cubs Kevin Brown to shed his contract-

I just dont see the Cubs keeping Brown, they dont need a starter
they need Rp's in a big way & a LF since alous contract yesterday
was the option & the cubs just passed on..

Wheres Magg's going to end up?
