Even if he's pans out somewhere else, he isn't doing it here. The coaches and players have no faith in the guy. Maybe it's just the receivers and I don't know of any QB in history that could have done anything behind that line Sunday.
Marino couldn't have gotten the ball off. But then again, he would have been ripping into somebody somewhere over that inept play.

He got killed doing the 7, and the 5. The only thing left is the 3, and he may not have the time to get a pass away then.
Plays determine the step drops, not the QB. They can't keep consistent protection for that long.Comment

In Marino's case...he adopted the 7 because he didn't have a leg to run on and his offensive line was porous...I can't remember a play where Har-Har stood up in the shotgun taking a long snap.
I get the "concept" of football too...desperate times call for desperate measures.
Only a matter of time before Mariucci or Har-Har-Harrington get the yank!
