I'm guessing these are 2 of the three guys that have met with the Steelers from that other post...

Check out the Plax post though...interesting...

Kevin Colbert, the Steelers' director of football operations, said they would not rule out Burress' return. "A lot of strange things can happen in free agency," Colbert said.

Right tackle Stocker McDougle was one of four players who visited the Steelers yesterday and likely the only one they are seriously interested in.
    -- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Adrian Klemm, an offensive tackle who spent the past five seasons with the Patriots, said that "I just want a fresh start" after meeting with Steelers coaches, administrators and trainers. "(The Steelers) didn't promise me anything except to give me the opportunity to compete for a starting role. That's all I can ask," said Klemm, who's frequently been injured during his pro career. "I don't plan on being a backup."

"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

Al's cronies are reporting that the Fins are going to sign McDougle...

      He'd be a decent signing, the guy's a monster...

I think Klemm wouldn't be bad, per se, but Starks looked damn good when he got a chance to play last year....

Plax is just getting tore up in the press.... From what I've read, he was offered a pretty damn big deal from the Giants and turned it down....

would be a humbling experience if he had to crawl back to the Steelers...

but you'd then see the bottom feeders make a relatively big deal to him...like the Eagles...

they are just waiting...if they get him...good for them...if they don't...who cares...

I'm confident the Steelers will sign a guy that fits into their line picture...not to worried about it...they are usually pretty good at getting guys cheap that are damn good...and just haven't gotten a shot...

These fucking restructures are going to kill them down the road...

at this point...they are setting up for the draft...

who knows what will happen at this point...

but I don't like any of it...

Or...it could be a sign they are going to be signing Hines to a long term deal...

I actually read a rumor on the Steelers board claiming that they're going to trade Porter and a draft pick to the Dolphins for their #2 draft pick...

I'll believe that when I see it....

Hines deal will most certainly create some cap space as well as tie him up for probably the next 5 seasons.

The Fins #2 is a nice idea if they can do it.

I think that's a local rumor...no way they deal Porter and probably a 1 or 2 for that pick...the only reason you do that...is to get Michigan boy...

but that's a high freakin' price for a receiver...game breaker or not...

Steelers | Wilson Thrilled About Playing with Roethlisberger - from www.KFFL.com
                        Tue, 12 Apr 2005 11:13:38 -0700

Joe Bendel, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers new WR Cedrick Wilson is thrilled about having QB Ben Roethlisberger as his quarterback. "Wow, that guy," Wilson said. "I don't want to say anything bad (about other quarterbacks), but the truth is, I never had the type of talent at quarterback that Ben brings to the table. He's an awesome guy. He's an awesome player. I've been watching him on film a lot and watching him scramble out of the pocket. Being a big guy and being able to do scramble like that, it's like, 'Wow.' He definitely brings a lot to the table." Wilson departed the San Francisco 49ers in free agency this year.

                        Tue, 12 Apr 2005 11:13:34 -0700

Mike Prisuta, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward expressed no concerns regarding his contract status and whether he will receive a new, long-term deal from the team. "I'm here today. I'm ready to go out there and continue being a leader, and working hard," Ward said. "That's really up to my agent (Roosevelt Barnes) and the Steelers. It's out of my control now." As reported, Ward is entering the final year of his contract in 2005.

I don't care if Wilson's happy or not, I still want them to grab Jones...

But knowing my luck, they'll grab some center from Palooka State #1...

Steelers re-sign Keisel, Morey, Rasby, St. Pierre

                            April 13, 2005
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Brett Keisel, a restricted free agent defensive end who could play a bigger role this season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has accepted the team's $656,000 tender offer.

Keisel, credited with six tackles last season as a backup, could see more playing time behind 34-year-old defensive end Kimo von Oelhoffen.

The Steelers also signed special teams player Sean Morey and tight end Walter Rasby to one-year contracts, Morey for $455,000 and Rasby for $765,000 as well as third-string quarterback Brian St. Pierre, who played in one game last year.

Morey, a former Philadelphia Eagles special teams captain, was claimed by Pittsburgh just before the start of last season and made 11 solo tackles. He also caught his first career pass.

Rasby, who broke into the NFL with the Steelers in 1994 as a rookie free agent, re-signed with them in December to replace the injured Jay Riemersma and played in their final six games. Rasby has also played for the Panthers, Lions, Redskins and Saints.
