    World Hockey Championships

Well...it will be all NHL this year...

Canada and Russia struggle but win tonight...

and the US...with a bunch of non-stars..but good players...go up against Slovenia tomorrow...

I'm curious to see what this team will do without a major star playing for them...

That being said....they have a bunch of scrappy NHL players...so we shall see...maybe we'll see a team effort this year...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

Well...Modano is the captain...but he's past star status at this stage of his career...

Stinks not having the NHL around this past year--actually had to resort to getting season tickets for the lacrosse team

          Laviolette is the head guy...again...

head coach of the Canes here in town...

and Tortorella is the associate...from the stanley cup winning Lightning...good staff...

I see Doug Weight is on the team as well...a couple of name guys...and a bunch of good players that have either been around the block...or are newbies...all are either NHL players...or affiliated...

so it should be an interesting team...

they split with Canada earlier in the year...actually...a coupla weeks ago...

The US beat the snot out of Slovenia 7-0.

The United States routed Slovenia 7-0 in its opener at the hockey world championship Sunday, with Mike Knuble scoring two goals and goaltender Rick DiPietro facing only 15 shots.

A tougher matchup in two days against Latvia...who put up 4 against Canada...

a win there wraps up a birth into round 2...

CANADIAN Junior Championship at the end of the month, playing for the Memorial Cup. Plenty of hockey out there.
