    Hopkins appeal denied...

Well...I had the fight lined up as a draw afterwards...to be honest...

anyone who saw the fight...saw this...

    1. Hopkins pissing around at the beginning...letting Taylor win rounds...not dominate...but Taylor was much more busy. He didn't land anything big...but...he did throw punches...and Hopkins essentially spent his time avoiding anything big...

    2. about halfway through the fight...Hopkins woke up...and to be honest...dominated...but he waited a round or 2 to late...

Hopkins threw bombs...and as I said before...totally controlled several rounds by landing BIG punches...

Hopkins appealed...but it was his own damn fault...here's to a great rematch...and if I were Jermain Taylor...I'd hope I don't get hurt...

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Bernard Hopkins' appeal of the split decision that cost him his undisputed middleweight championship to Jermain Taylor was denied, Taylor's promoter said.

Taylor defeated Hopkins in their bout in Las Vegas on July 16 with two judges awarding the fight to the challenger and one to Hopkins.
Hopkins appealed the decision to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, but David Itskowitch of DiBella Entertainment said Friday at a rally for Taylor that the panel had denied Hopkins' plea.

Taylor, a native of Little Rock, stood in the back of a red convertible, wearing a white blazer and flashing a big smile as he passed by adoring fans. A crowd of 5,500 packed an amphitheater in 101-degree heat on what Arkansas first lady Janet Huckabee declared to be "Jermain Taylor Day."

A rematch between Taylor and Hopkins is expected in December. Taylor will need some time for a head cut to heal before he can return to the ring.

    Interesting.

My brother and I argued about the outcome of this fight while watching the replay last night.

I had it scored 115-113 for Taylor.

Styles make fights, and this was pretty boring for the most part.

Hopkins holds and uses his head a lot ... and there were too many rounds where he did nothing. And not that Taylor tore it up either.

Neither punched in combination very much.

The rematch won't be in December due to the nasty cut on the top of Taylor's head due to an "accidental" head butt.

I was disappointed in both fighters.

This sets Hopkins' plans back as well...he can't fight forever...and if he loses again...

      he might as well retire...

      I don't think he will...

I wonder how deliniated that contract is about how soon the rematch must take place...

It was supposively for December automatically, but read yesterday that Taylor won't be able to do shit for a couple months while the cut heals.

They say December is out. Which does make time Hopkins big nemesis here.
