He gave a reason - it was ruled out for an alleged pull (US player pulling an Slovenian back by the shirt). Refs do make some suspect calls I'm afraid and as FIFA won't introduce replay technology there is no end of suspect decisions in sight.

As far as the Yanks, I understand blown calls--and there were plenty--but to take a goal away on something as marginal as that? Pulling in a scrum in the 18? Like that never happens. The horse shit call of the tournament so far.Comment

I’ve been working to watch the World Cup and get into the games. And I hate to be a typical American, but the ties are completely unsatisfying. And, it really seems like the US got screwed at the end of the game with Slovenia. They dug themselves a huge hole in the first half and are responsible for that, but that last goal should have counted and it should have been an incredible come-from-behind win.
