I was quite surprised that most of the Toon fans I met didn't support England and some even supported Scotland.

That was a few years ago though before we went completely shit.

Yip more of my mates support Scotland than England .... It's the whole London centric media puts people off .
Am a more balanced individual the further they get in a tournament the more nights on the drink.
So realistically they can get stuffed as much as they like as long as I get two weeks on the drink in the summer every two years .

I can see it must get confusing because we get all annoyed when British is called English too.

When it's about football then there is no British, in that context it's like saying Scandinavian because the football teams are all separate.
