Ah. I used to go to the home matches about 20yrs ago - for a season or two. 93-95-ish.

We could well have been at the same matches although around that time I would only have been going to about 6 or 7 games a season.

Learning that life is mostly going to be like a disappointing wet day at Firhill would serve some people rather well, I think! In my day-to-day life I deal with people who perceive themselves to be invulnerable, quite wrongly! Getting a good soaking now and again puts human folly into perspective ...

It was all worth it anyway to see players like Alex McLeish, in the dying days of his career, get the pish mercilessly ripped out of him when he came over to take a throw-in ..

The banter isn't what it was in football.

You used to get these seemingly mild mannered old guys that would scream some really creative obscene abuse for 90 minutes solid.

Nowadays the police or stewards would stop them.

Yeah we are at the top of a cycle.

No playoffs and only one team goes up due to the self serving rules set up by the teams in the top division so it's a nightmare to get out of the 1st division in Scotland.

Ahead of us is 1 or 2 years in the top division followed by relegation, a resulting financial crisis and then about 10-15 years before we win the league again.

Most teams our size at least have the odd cup final in between. We won the league cup in 1971 which I was too young for and before that it was the FA cup in 1921.

It's a lot more fun being top of the 1st than bottom of the premier league but you just have to get on with it. Our best players have already been bought by the teams we'll be playing.

The US draft system is so much better...

Mate am already planning my Friday night out around next years championship season .
Seemingly we won the fairs cup in 196whatever . Was to young to remember and since then were just a good excuse to go out with the lads .
Though I do have that pivotal moment where my young un wants to go with dad and grandad to watch the footy coming up . But recent trouble has mrs van flapping . I keep telling her the worst thing that will happen is he will learn what ... "This is fucking shite" means

If you qualify for Europe on FIFA 13 i think you get an application sent to you for the toon job.
