Biggest Game of the Week: Houston vs. San Francisco

    Okay...Houston wins...we could have 5 teams at 3 and 13...

San Fran, Houston, Green Bay, New Orleans and the Jets...

The question would then become...who gets Bush?

A lot of people assume it would be San Fran...but...it wouldn't necesarily...

it would come down to the team who's strength of schedule was the worst (if you lose to shitty teams...you get #1)...

and right now...who would it be?

    New Orleans...who has McCallister...

Houston and the Jets are next...tied...

    then Green Bay...

    and finally San Fran...

    if Houston loses...Reggie...

    if they win?

    interesting...

Yeah, I heard somewhere that there is some calculation or tie breaker that makes it impossible for San Francisco to get Bush now with last weeks win. No matter what happens now, SF is out of the Bush sweepstakes. Their like ninth in line now. Too bad for us Niner Faithful...
Knowing and believing are two very different things.

It is the difference between the knowledge we accrue... ...and the knowledge we apply.

      I don't know...

a lot can happen in a week...

I know I'd be starting the practice squad though...

Cap constraints have to come into play it would seem.

SF with two number 1's in a row is a lot of coin.

I could see many of these teams trying and trading that pick for a Jimmy Johnson like take when he dealt Herschel Walker...

Would probably be a smart trade...

Poor Reggie. Good thing he got to win so much in college.

And a trade scenario would seem to put Lineart back into the #1 overall picture also.

Which do the JETS need more? Martin end of the line, Penny too IMO.

The Pack? Rodgers the answer? DOokie and Ahman both FA's?

Texans? Is Carr staying for that $8 million roster bonus? Davis too injury prone?

New Orleans? We know Brooks is toast there, he's done. McAllister yes, but who knows how he comes back from the knee.

How about Bush or Leinart to New Orleans somehow, and then the Saints move to LA. That might be interesting.

But a lot will happen Al before that...

You have a few BIG NAME backs in play as well...

like Ricky Williams...whatever happens to Ahman...

                  etc...etc...

The thing with McAllister is that they have him tied up to a long term deal...and they can't just dump him or get sued...so if NO manages the first pick...they'll deal it...I'm sure...

Texans? They need so fucking much...if they didn't deal it...they'd be insane...

                  The Pack would take him...period...

The Jets SHOULD take him...and sign a free agent QB...

                  San Fran SHOULD take him...

if the Jets don't have the #1 pick...I think they go Lineart...they have too...

If the Jets get 1...and New Orleans 2...

I could see the Jets giving up their #1 for McCallister and their slot...

                  then take Lineart...

I definately could see the Saints taking Leinart...

I just don't see them throwing more coin to another running back...

Yep I see Matt going to the Saints too.

I think whoever gets the first pick takes Reggie, I think he's too good to pass up by trading the pick.

True Brett...he's a once in the lifetime pick...and everyone knows that...

Let's say you are Houston...with a QB that could be good...and a running back that could be healthy if you had a line worth a damn...

                        You find a way to deal the #1 pick...for another high #1 this year...a #1 next year...a couple of #2's...maybe a #3...

and 1 or 2 starting lineman...

                        just for the 1st pick...

                        you gotta make that deal...

You know, if San Fran DID take Reggie I don't think it would make much difference. The O line needs a lot of work, and I don't know if he'd be able to do anything without anyone up front for him. What SF should do is trade Alex Smith for a proven QB and some picks, get RID of that pathetic joke of a RB Kevin Barlow, and then get some hot WR's and linemen.

I think Gore and Hicks are actually pretty good backs if they had a good O line.

On the other hand, from a business standpoint, Reggie would sell a lot of tickets... ...and he'd be exciting to watch.

Damn, I just wish we could have it all again in San Francisco!!

Right now...Alex Smith...with that contract...and the beating he took this year...

is worthless as far as a big deal goes...

                            no way he gets dealt...

I do agree that Bush alone will not make a team...

                              however...

it will help in the PR department...
