yeah , i remember reading that .. didnt witherspoon say he was threatened by king to sign contracts ... and ive heard other stories of him threatening other boxers .

i will leave it so someone who may know abit about throwing his weight about :

It was an employee called Sam Garrett.I think the guy owed him some money or something like that.Anyway king stomped him to death.He was also charged for the murder of Hillary Brown but it was later ruled self defence

Chavez Jr looked good in stopping Andy Lee in the 7th. He is BIG for a middleweight.

Adamek beat Chambers via UD. It was an odd decision, however.....

Depends if his management wants to risk it.

I suspect they might try for one of the European champs first - those fights are still risky, but those guys don't have Martinez's speed/movement.

There's always Pavlik, too......

After such a long layoff I can't imagine that Pavlik is half the fighter he once was. So, from Chavez Jr's management point of view it would be a smart fight........

Can't see Pavlik beating Chavez...Martinez, on the other hand, will. Rather easily I'd imagine.

Well, they're making the fight so SOMEONE is confident about Chavez's chances.

I'll say this: he's improving, and he's very big and strong for 160.

True, but Sergio's way too fast and his style is too unorthodox for Chavez to deal with at this stage IMO. They're probably near-equal power-wise, but Martinez edges him in every other department.

Given Chavez is showing some improvement on his earlier career I think he should go for Kelly Pavlik.Pavlik is 3-0 at super middleweight and could reasonably win a belt in the coming months.He is still a recognisable name who would look good on Chavez's record and it would not be a bad fight.Pavlik would be willing to trade and can still punch.I also thought Carl Froch would be a good choice.Both guys have momentum,Both are strong guy's.I could see that one being good.Froch is also willing to travel so Chavez could have the fight at home.

I still think Martinez is too much for Chavez right now.His speed and skill's coupled with his counter punches would be way too much for Chavez to handle.ALthough reportedly they are set to fight on September 15th in Las Vegas,The same night of Golden Boy's Canelo - Ortiz fight

Jesus DB you must be a sadist - putting Chavez in with Froch would be tantamount to muder! Froch is way, way too powerful and strong for Jr. He's be lucky to last 5 rounds, IMO.
