Report: Bills Trade Peters To Eagles

Posted by Aaron Wilson on April 17, 2009, 1:32 p.m.

The Buffalo Bills have traded Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jason Peters to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com.

In exchange for Peters, the Bills receive the Eagles’ 28th overall pick of the first round as well as a second-day draft pick in this year’s draft and a late-round draft pick in 2010.

Peters has been unhappy with his contract and hasn’t been attending the Bills’ offseason activities after staging a holdout last summer at training camp.

Presumably, Peters will be seeking a new deal from his new employers.

The Eagles needed an offensive tackle after starter Tra Thomas left in free agency. Jon Runyan is a free agent and has been battling injuries.

Now that they've given up their #1 pick, it's safe to assume the Eagles are out of the mix for Boldin. Peters ain't that great... he's spent more time whining and bitching than blocking. I don't think the Eagles went in the right direction with this one.

Good riddance to that overrated, sack-of-shit turnstile! He had a terrible year after holding out for a lot more money failed, then still somehow managed to make the Pro Bowl. He's had one good year, which wasn't the last one.

If he hadn't held out and just played under his contract of which he has a couple of years to go, I think the Bills would have sweetened it last year, but he had to be kind of a dick about it. The Bills haven't done much right in the past few seasons, but they're spot on with this one!

Insofar as I think this was a bad move for Philly, it was a great move for Buffalo... now they have a first round picks at 11 and at 28. They can use that 11 spot for a tackle and have 28 to fill another need... maybe TE.
