I was at the track when the whole deal with Stewart went down and saw the whole thing, and, in my opinion, it wasn't his (Stewart's) fault. Generally, if there's a wreck at Chicagoland, it's in the turns, usually where Kahne went sliding into the wall. Cars will sort of wander up out of the groove and just lose it because there's not much grip up there. He pretty much lost the car and Stewart happened to be behind him and was the first one to bump him when he lost it, so he got the blame. I don't think that fight in the pits would have broken out (that was entertaining to see from the stands, every reporter and NASCAR official running toward Stewart's pits), but they would have been pissed regardless. I've been to every race at that track since it opened (in 2001), and I didn't think I wanted tickets for next year but after this weekend, I may reconsider...

That's what you get when you have a field of 43...and about 25 cars with enough money to be competative...

Petty's have the money to be competative...but the insanity of having Kyle on the track...never...ever a threat to win...

and they can't get a competative driver in their 43 car...

        makes you wonder...

who's their top driver now...Jeff Green?

        Sadler's a ham n' egger...isn't he top 10 in points?

        Marlin's past his prime...

Mayfield could win more...just doesn't have the killer instinct...

Gordon...good road racer...go back to Indy...

Cope...lmfao...1 race...and the guy gets a ride nearly every week...

        1 Daytona win...lmfao...

Sadler's problem is that he's from up here in Emporia....

Ya know, the speed trap capital of the civilized world...

He's probably so not used to going over 55MPH, it just scares the shit out of him.....

Now, y'all just had to know that I'd jump in sooner or later....lol

Let's look at Punky Stewart...He has proven his disrespect for other drivers, the press, the fans and NASCAR itself with his past actions. He does what he wants, when he wants ..full speed ahead, damn the torpedoes! In his arrogance, he thinks the rules of conduct do not apply to him, and apparantly, NASCAR agrees. Punky gets a slap on the wrist for the same infractions that others get suspended for. If it had been almost any other driver that hit Kahne in Chicago, I'd call it racing...but Punky is a mean little bastard. As far as I'm concerned, if he's involved, he's guilty. His heart is in open wheel, and he needs to take his ass back there. He's been a jackass ever since he was forced to choose between racing the Indy or the WC race the same day. He was denied preferential treatment, and he's been pouting ever since. Too bad for us, the money is in NASCAR.

Kyle Petty, King of the Back of the Pack....IMO - He's in it for the love of the race and to keep a Petty in NASCAR. He's not in it for the money or the glory or the victorys. He keeps the Petty name alive with every race he starts. The race is what matters, not the win. It's called sportsmanship....

Did y'all see Jeff Gordon beat out Penn Jillette, Kathy Griffin, Ron Silverman, and Angie Dickinson, to win almost $40,000 for his charity on Celebrity Poker Tour? He folded on a guaranteed win just to give PoliceWoman enough chips to put up a good fight. It all came down to the last card, and it fell in his favor. As happy as he was to get the money for his charity, he looked like he wanted Angie to win.

                    Yes we've been waitin' darlin'....

I think Stewart will get his when they go back to the short tracks like Bristol or Richmond in the fall....

                      Oooh Angie....

80 years old (or something like that) and I'm still in lust with her...

Remember in "Dressed to Kill" when she was in the backseat with that anonymous dude from the museum and she....

                      Never mind....

open wheel doesn't need Stewart, they've already got their own problem...Tony George.
