    Frontline - League of Denial

    Anyone else watch this?

Halfway through it right now, and all I can say is "wow."

The pussies at ESPN pulled out because they don't want to piss off the NFL.

I would expect a lot of fallout from this. Even after they settled the lawsuit.

    Watch the full show here:

What did the NFL know, and when did they know it? FRONTLINE reveals the hidden story of the NFL and brain injuries.

    Sadly, it's not surprising.

This is the way corporations behave. The NFL is no different. It was all too easy for various commissioners, team doctors and coaches to either deny the emerging science or bury their heads in the sand, because at the end of the day it only caused damage to the players, and the counter-claim can be made that the players knew the risks going in. Big money is at stake. In the end, it was cheaper for the NFL to pay out 3/4s of a billion dollars in a non-admission settlement in order to kick the can down the road if only for a few more years than it was to admit there may be some physical damage to the brain as an inherent result of the nature of the game. The NFL didn't want to believe this was true, so they made a conscious decision to deny (and still do deny) the mounting evidence to the contrary.
The players are disposable. The league is (seemingly) forever.
