Quincy Carter cut by Dallas

According to a report at espn.com , Dallas QB Quincy Carter has been cut by Bill Parcells.

Looks like Vinnie Testaverde will be the starter.

Guess it pays to be a "Parcells guy".

This comes on the heels of last night's "Sports Center", which featured an interview with Carter by Mike Ditka.

During the course of the interview, Carter was asked who would be the starting QB for Dallas come the season opener...Carter replied: (with confidence) "I Will".

Apparently not, for ESPN goes on to say that he "Failed a drug test..."!
He has not been suspended by the league at tis time.

He was a joke to be drafted in the 2nd round. Most had him either after the fourth, or not drafted at all.

I think this is a smart move by the Cowboys. I hated Carter at Georgia and I was sorely disappointed that the Cowboys drafted him. I knew that sumbitch could never fill Aikman's shoes.

...really...just avoiding an early QB controversy...which really wasn't a controversy...he wasn't going to start...
