Very funny and sharp brought the house down.

Good to see he's off the medication that turned him into a shambling zombie.

    Cheers!

Ozzy was in Sydney about 3 weeks ago for some MTV crap, I also
noticed that he seemed more "with it" in the interviews....

That is Mick Ronson. Most famously known for playing for David Bowie in the 70s. He was on the Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust albums. I'm sure there was another album.

Nope, great question. I get a lot of home bros asking me that one. Let some of the pros around here take a shot at this one, before I say anything.

Thanks Tom. Randy served it man, no doubt.
He had that magic combination of chops, attack, and phrasing.
Of course, the live solo's incredible too.

                          Randy Rhoads 1981 Gear Setup
                          -----------------------------------

This is Rhoads gear setup, but he had a special pedal board built that had custom individual pedals for each signal processing effect on it, and a lot of the gear hidden inside the board.

                              Zakk Wylde
1987 Demo Tape Used to Get Job with Ozzy
(and Sharon), from 96 guitarists reviewed for the job.

When Ozzy couldn't take any more of Jake Lee's shitty attitude, he went searching once again for a guitarist to stand in Randy Rhoads shadow. That exhaustive search ended on Oz picking Jeffrey Wielandt to replace Lee. Oz renamed his new superstar axeman Zakk Wylde, (and Jeff legally changed his name) and a new superstar and super group was born.

Oz's new super group also included the brilliant drummer, (and super nice guy) Randy Castillo, who unfortunately passed away of cancer in 2002, (www.randycastillo.com) and Bob Daisley or Sabbath's Geezer Butler playing bass. I know of few guitarists that can stand up to Wylde's brilliant ability.

Zakk Wylde's 1987 Ozzy Demo Tape

                              Track 1: Intro
....The Opening, was just that, an opening, an onslaught of what Zakk thought would impress Ozzy and Sharon circa 1987.

                              Track 2: Catchy Lick
....Track 2 was a song Zakk whipped out based on the current musical trends, melodic metal type riff, with melodic lead. Guessing at what Ozzy's direction might be in the near future and demonstrating Zakk's ability to come up with a catchy lick.

                              Track 3: Classical - Part 1
....Zakk was studying classical quite a bit back than, and he seemed to pick it up quickly, he even won some competetions. This is some original material Zakk put together.

                              Track 4: Classical - Part 2

Track 5: Mr. Crowley/Flying High Again solos
....Zakk decided to reproduce a couple of his favorite Randy Rhoads solos, to end his demo.
