Hardrock69's Merry Xmas 2005 Motherfucking Present To The Roth Army

    Ok peeps.

Dishere be my Christmas 2005 present to the GREAT & TERRIBLE members of the Roth Army, for valuable Dave services above and beyond the call of whatever!

    LED ZEPPELIN - OUTTAKES 1968-1980
    Antrabata Reference Master Label
    11 Volume Set

    (Some assembly required)

    *************INSTRUCTIONS***********

You have to download all 17 .rar files, and then have all of them in one folder, then unzip file number 1.

It will automatically unzip all of them.

You will then have 11 folders, each one containing a disc full of outtakes and alternate takes from Led Zeppelin's entire career in 160Kbps .MP3 format.

**WARNING** Make sure you have at least a couple of gigs of hard drive space on your hard drive.

There is also a 12th folder called "Covers". Guess what it has?

    Nicely done too.

I have created an improvement though.

I tend to print my front cd covers as a double-wide, folded over thing. It creates some tension when inserted into the front of the jewel case, so it will not fall out like a single sheet of paper tends to do.

So I have done this with the disc 1 cover that came with these files, and put a track listing on the inside of the front cover. The original cover files that came with it were an image for the very front of the jewel box only (4.75 inches square).

I will soon post these so people can download them. I have to finish the rest of them first, and that will take several days.

As for the files themselves: I do not have the time or internet connection to create an easier scenario for you guys. All I can do is post the links as I found them.

As long as you guys keep downloading the files, they will stay up. That is the way rapidshare works. Once a file goes 30 days without anyone downloading it, it automatically gets deleted.

If anyone here wants to get all 17 of thesefiles, and put them on a server for awhile so people can just download them without having to wait an hour between downloads (rapidshare sucks ass in that respect), it would help for sure.

Going a step beyond would be to just create an iso image of each cd, so you could just download the image file and burn the disc.

    But I digress.

As it is, it took me several days to get all these, as I could only get 3 or 4 files a day on my broadband connection at work.

Enjoy, peeps. I have listened to a small part of Disc I, and this is absolute studio quality stuff, with talkbacks between the control room and the musicians, etc.

I am gonna be slaving over a hot cd burner for the next 12 days, creating bootleg Xmas presents for a lot of peeps....

    Here are the links.

Oops. I wasn't paying attention. Tell me again what is going on.
"I decided to name my new band DLR because when you say David Lee Roth people think of an individual, but when you say DLR you think of a band. Its just like when you say Edward Van Halen, people think of an individual, but when you say Van Halen, you think of…David Lee Roth, baby!"!

                Goober.
All I did was post them.

If they did not work for you, either their server was down or you had some weird problem with your machine or connection....

Glad they are working for ya now.

One tune on one of the first couple of discs is actually just Robert Plant singing a lead vocal take on "Since I've Been Loving You".

                Pretty cool shit.

                      Four Sticks (2:17)

**HR69 NOTE** You can see in Disc Seven, the roots of their Unledded Reunion in 1991 or so.....with the Egyptian/Indian Ensemble backing them. There are long periods of studio talk as the Indian musicians rehearse and learn the song. It appears the first version of "Friends" being half an hour long, is actually more of a rehearsal....and then the rest of the tracks are studio performances.

                      Disc Eight:

                      Southampton University, January 20, 1973

                      Surrender (3:38)

**HR69 NOTE: The Above is the SOUND CHECK that afternoon. They played Chicago Stadium that night, and again the next night. They were just jamming on old songs they knew for the most part. There are times when you listen closely to Robert Plant when he is singing unaccompanied, and you can hear his voice in the background as it echoes around the stadium!!!!

                          No prob.

I just listened to some of it last night.

                          Fucking amazing.

I have a wee bit of work to do, fer instance some of the tracks need to run together (the live jam stuff like the Chicago Sound check), but my main concern right now is getting the covers done, so I can send a couple of these sets to friends for Christmas.

I have been up until 2 AM every night this week working on this stuff.

Here are the w improved front covers.

There is the original black front, but I added a page on the inside with the track listing for for that particular cd.
