You will notice a lot of Prog guitarists amongst that lot-that's because Prog musicians are amongst the most talented people ever.
How long did it take you to figure all that out, Tomballin?
As far as greatest guitarist, EVH may not be the most technical or expressive, and certainly he has not conquered all music genres. With that said, EVH is one of the few guitarists that is/was able to play with a sense of mastery, yet still be able to express at the same time.
And whatever "mistakes" you find in his playing, I see them as an asset, adding some color, some humanity in his playing.
I've listened to many guitarists over the last 30 years, and no guitarist keeps my attention as much as EVH. No matter how many times I listen to Dance The Night Away, Somebody Get Me A Doctor, etc. from the DLR days (And believe me, I've listened to those enough for several people), he still captures my attention. I still see myself doing some air guitar to On Fire (quite pathetic-looking), I still get chills when I hear Eruption, and his sound always gets me fired up for the day. Thanks Ed.
This is a video compilation of some rare and awesome Joe Satriani, and friends, live performances and studio work. You need to be using a download accelerator application on some of large videos.
Joe tours Australia in March, and U.S in April 2005. I am sure SuperMod Panamark will have a great video for use of the show with his new digital camera, when Joe plays Sydney.
Joe also replaced Eddie Van Halen with Peavey, after Peavey decided to not renew their contractual commitments with the EVH, who was in contractual violations on three commitments to Peavey.
Thanks, I'm a major Satch fan and study. Seen him in concert 7 times, would see him another 7 times. Two of the concerts I was standing like 10 feet from the guy for the whole gigs.
Why can not EVH be like Joe, instead of being a drunken/drugged bum.
