The one song that puts EVERYBODY in a sombre mood is that song from REM called 'Everybody Hurts'. Or even Eric Claptons 'Tears In Heaven' which is dedicated to his deceased son. Simon and Garfunkel have
a great sad song called 'The Boxer' which narrates the life of a lonely
New York City boxer. Elvis Presley's 'Danny Boy' is also pretty sad.

more suicides than any other song. The guy who wrote it even
commited suicide, as did his girlfriend. Apparently it was banned
in parts of the world due to the apparent suicide inducing effect..
