I thought it was a pretty good movie, and when I think back to my young days, that was pretty much my friends and I when it came to KISS. People who didn't live in that era, might not appreciate just how huge a phenomenon KISS was in the 1970s. Unlike the bands that KISS took a lot from (Alice Cooper, Zappa, Bowie), KISS was really very visible to the public. Where Alice was considered dangerous and bizarre, he was not really a fixture on TV and such (until he went solo). KISS was on network tv (remember the Paul Lynde Halloween Special?) on lunchboxes, cartoons, EVERYWHERE! So parents actually got to see a lot of them and it caused two sets of reaction- they're harmless characters or they're dangerous degenerates.
I think I loved all the over the top scenes with the mother and her anti-KISS group best, because that shit actually happened. I remember our priest, as a kid, telling parents not to let us listen to KISS.
