Metamucil Presesnts...."How Old is Too Old?" Vol. I

    Gilmour slams Rolling Stones

    Thursday, June 1st, 2006

New York - David Gilmour, lead singer of the legendary rock band Pink Floyd, says Rolling Stones should stop touring.

According to pagesix.com, Gilmour said: ‘I think it’s ridiculous, actually. Mick (Jagger) and Keith (Richards) should get a life. It is like a strange, sexual compulsion. How much do they need? I think a lot of it is the applause. It is a powerful drug, 50,000 people appearing to adore you.’

This seems rather ironic since Gilmour himself was on tour at the age of 60 and last year reunited with Pink Floyd.

I don`t think there should be any age limit for musicians who can still do it and are creating good new music (Rush, Dio, Motorhead, Yes etc.).

If they`re out there living off of stuff they did thirty years ago then it`s time to go (Kiss, Ozzy, Motley crue etc.).

I can`t really comment on The Stones as I don`t listen to them much and don`t know what their latest stuff sounds like or how much of it they play in concert.

It`s not as bad as the Thin Lizzy thing anyhow.

Yeah, when half a band tours and ruins a legacy, that is a far greater crime.

Which is something Gilmour knows all to well, since he did exactly that for 10 years.

I understand his point if he thinks he's too old for touring, but for fucks sake, would ONE tour with the REAL Pink Floyd kill him??

Gilmour is really the last one that has any business making those remarks, although I agree with him 100%.

But I never cared for Floyd anyway, so....

I have no problem with any musician of any age doig their thing.

And I would soomer see someone with some vintage to them than some new teenage phenomenon.

Gilmour is a bitch and always has been. Fuck him.
