Hung Out With Billy Cox (Jimi Hendrix Band Of Gypsys) on Saturday

He was doing a signing of his new CD at a cd store in West Gnashville.

I do not see him that often, but this was the third time....

Got him to sign an 8 X 10 of a photo taken of he and I a couple of years ago.

After he was done with the signing, he jammed with a guitarist and drummer....played "Red House", "Freedom" and "All Along The Watchtower".

    He has a great voice....

It is always cool to meet one of the legends of rock...

Probably, but what have Cox and Buddy Miles done since Hendrix died?

Actually they have stayed very busy for the past 36 years.

Played poorly on several Hendrix tributes...

                  Doing what?

I`m sure it must be pretty hard trying to get up for playing in a band when you`ve played with Hendrix, especially as he had history with Cox besides music.

Buddy Miles strikes me as the kind of guy who`ll play with anybody who`ll put up with him, though.

                    They have been playing.

One thing Billy did early on was to play in the Charlie Daniels band for a couple of years in the early 70s.

He also had his own video production company for many years, and has done a lot of session work, as well as live stuff. Aside from the Hendrix tribute stuff. Lately he has been very involved in the Gospel music biz. He is a badass on bass, and it is always great to see him play.

Buddy has stayed busy playing as well.
