Slayer's Undisputed Attitude is full of some of the best punk/hardcore covers I've ever heard.

                  1. Disintegration / Free Money (Verbal Abuse)
                  2. Verbal Abuse / Leeches (Verbal Abuse)
                  3. Abolish Government / Superficial Love (T.S.O.L.)
                  4. Can't Stand You
                  5. Ddamm
                  6. Guilty Of Being White (Minor Threat)
                  7. I Hate You (Verbal Abuse)
                  8. Filler / I Don't Want To Hear It (Minor Threat)
                  9. Spiritual Law (D.I.)
                  10. Sick Boy (GBH)
                  11. Mr. Freeze (Dr. Know)
                  12. Violent Pacification (D.R.I.)
                  13. Richard Hung Himself (D.R.I.)
                  14. I'm Gonna Be Your God (The Stooges)

                  16. Memories Of Tomorrow (Suicidal Tendencies)

Maiden did a cover of UFO's "Doctor, Doctor" that was fucking awesome as well.

As I was reading the possible Police reunion thread, it reminded me of Anthrax's excellent cover of "No Time This Time" a bonus song from Stomp 442. Frank Bello really nails Sting's vocals.

Helloween's cover of Focus' "Hocus Pocus" is brilliant! The best thing about it is that they sound like they had a ball recording it. Love that tune!

I may take a bit of shit for this...

But Billy Idol's version of Mony Mony is one of the FEW covers that I think is miles away better than the original...

I won't post it...but Meat Loaf's remake of Jim Steinman's "Bad for Good" is one of the highlights of Bat Out of Hell III...no doubt Todd Rundgren's arrangements helped a LOT with that...

Jim Steinman's original version is fucking AWFUL...I love Jim's stuff normally, because I'm into that bombastic, over the top shit, but the original version of "Bad for Good" sounds extremely harried and hectic...

I'm with you on that one. MJB didn't understand the song at all. It requires a slow build throughout. She started with her histrionics at the first note.

10 out of 10 on raw talent but 1 out of 10 for her phrasing.

I don't know why this popped into my head looking at it again for the first time in years it's great.

Great fit for the band and one of the highlights of a pretty patchy album.

As ever with White Lion I fucking love the solo. It's not that difficult to play and every single part of it is a total unadulterated rip off of Eddie Van Halen but by that point if you wanted to listen to proper 'Eddie Van Halen Solos' Vito Bratta was doing them better than he was.

                                Just perfect solo writing.

I could listen to that a dozen times and it's a 1000 times better than anything the shredders do.

                                Cheers!

I've always thought that Lion did a better job on that song that Van Halen would have. Vito played it perfectly - right in the pocket, not too flashy. Ed would have overplayed the thing - made it too busy. Vito knew when not to play.
Too bad Tramp couldn't control his tendency towards balladry. They could have been a really great band with a fair career.
