Well, Lamb of God is basically some god awful death metal band that rips vocals off from Norwegian black metal. Children of Bodom is a Finnish quintet that sounds like a cross between Ram It Down-era Judas Priest and Celtic Frost. Vocals still kinda screamy, but decipherableRoth Army Militia

However, I think Lamb of god are an exception. Now they are by no means a great band, a good one at best. But they do stand apart from the crowd by doing some of the crazy time signatures that Meshuggah use (although by no means to the same effect.)
True, I have no desire to listen to them all the time, but they are a little different from most of the newer bands: they are a little more than "godawful death metal"The Power Of The Riff Compels MeComment
