DIO, Iommi,Butler and Ward to tour as "Heaven and hell"?
If a thread called "the sheep pen" has the longest post count to date, I say that's work of a true genius!

Yo, Terry...at this point I'd rather see Dio with Sabbath than Ozzy. His voice is shot. Gone. Completely.
I saw Dio/Sabbath on both tours and not only was it a great loud show, but the overall stage and lighting was killer for its time.
Out of the entire Sabbath library I listen to the stuff that Dio did with them over any other of their albums save one...Their first release.
Ozzy bailed off of his latest tour due to vocal problems. True, not true, I don't know but the last time I saw him I wasn't impressed. The magic from the Randy era is LONG gone.
Originally posted by Mr Badguy I guess Ozzy wanting the name of Black Sabbath is probably to get back at Tony for kicking him out and continuing the band.
Luckily he`s not stupid enough to use the name by himself.
I wish Axl Rose was bright enough to realise that!
This is very cool news!!! Even if its still a rumour at this point.
I like the 'Heaven and Hell' moniker. It fits and sounds right.
If its not for legal reasons that they won't call themselves Black Sabbath, I can understand why.
Ever since Sabbath officially reformed with Ozzy in '97, its been common knowledge to everyone that the TRUE Sabbath was the original.
And not to mess with the fans and also NEW fans (there are a lot of kids these days that only view Sabbath with Ozzy), I can understand why not using the name with Dio again.
Makes perfect sense.
Ozzy is done as a performer, as far as I'm concerned. And with that, I think the original Sabbath is done.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think that was one of the conditions that Ozzy had for the reunion, that there would never again be another version of Black Sabbath. I don't think he wanted to do it and then Iommi go out and tour again with the name.

Who the hell is playing drums here? It doesn't look like Bill OR Vinnie to me
Most likely Vinnie.
Bill recorded the Heaven and Hell album with the band, but due to heavy drinking and so on could not get himself up for the tour -- besides, his buddy Ozzy was just booted out which just made Bill drink even more.
Bill came back in '83 and recorded the Born Again album with Ian Gillan.
But again, because of his drinking problem, could not get himself well enough for the tour -- this time he was replaced by ELO drummer, Bev Bevan.
