I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but Opeth did a very nice cover of "Remember Tomorrow".

You can find it on the special edition of the Ghost Reveries release.

I agree they really can't be compared. Bruce is the voice of Maiden for the most part. They made a ton of great music with him.

Paul adds that true punk feel to the band. Which I also love. It's raw, loud and powerful. Number of the Beast would have never happened with Paul Di'Anno and Bruce Dickenson will never be punk as fuck.

Most seem to agree that Dickinson is the man, but some of that early stuff is great-Prowler, Iron Maide, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Charlotte the Harlot, Running Free, Phantom.. The fact that they still perform some of these songs is testament to the fact.
