Mostly because Kurt's mom & sister have raised her more than Cuntney herself. From what I've heard, Frances is a bright kid and she's not afraid to tell her mom that her bad habits (smoking, drugs, etc.) are stupid.

Hard to believe she's a teenager now.

I was wondering about that as well. His name and likeness have probably been trademarked and used in marketing campaigns. I'm guessing that's where the money comes from. It would make sense, after all, when you hear "Einstein" it's unlikely that you'll think of anyone or anything else but ol' Albert.

I've never understood the appeal behind Nirvana and I guess I never will. I guess it's nice that they made so much money, but I'll be damned if I can understand why. Their contribution to music was three chord garage trash on a major label. Pointless lyrics that made zero sense. Amateur musicianship out of all of them. I just don't get it. Alice in Chains on their worst day was 10,000 times the band Nirvana could have ever been on their best. There were a LOT of so-called Seattle Bands that were better than Nirvana and yet it seems like Nirvana came to represent all of them, other than Queensryche and Sir Mix a Lot. LOL, only in America. Hey, sue me, what can I say? I guess I have to be the voice of dissent. Oh well.

Here's how I hear Nirvana - what they did was essentially take all of the great music that had been going on in the underground through the '80's, punk and the obscure stuff like Sonic Youth, and mix it with big fuck off hooks (Cobain's great talent, IMO).

Not a case of originality so much as synthesis - it sounded fresh because in '91 most people had heard nothing like it.

Coupled with the fact that the media then invented "Grunge" (a lalble for a bunch of bands that very little in common except for the fact that they weren't hair metal) as the antithesis of big-hair rock, and hey presto you have new musical messiahs!

I like Nirvana, always have. I just miss the industry would stop fucking Cobain's legacy.

Not the greatest band ever, not even the greatest band to come out of Seatle at that time, but great nonetheless. Sad thing is, that they have become a product....

I just do not see the draw, to me, he was one of the least talented musicians of all time. To mention him in the same breath as Elvis is a travesty.

It's licensing laws. Cuntplicated stuff....you really want to delve into that shit? Go look @ the Fender whammy bar site. The Jeff Beck nullocaster repro is like reading THE ONION.

Anyway, and this ain't no lie...I was watching Bubba Hotep Tuesday night. The night before these revalations. Cobain was a viable musician...entrenched in addiction. Thing is, he let Mother Love Bone recordings drive him crazy. If you listen to any of that crap, he would always revert to shitty, often BASE arrangements....right place...right time.

Ask Aldo Nova about that phenomenon.

What in the fuck does Aldo Nova have to do with any of this?

                      Goddamn.....back to Bubba Hotep:

Go rent it.....Ossie Davis is Kurt Cobain.
