This is an old article, is it not?
2002 in the URL, and the ages they gave, are what they would have been in 02.
Served hot, right from the rhythm kitchen.

But Plant decided there was no reason to continue the project without Ertegun's involvement.

Plant is one of those rare beasts: an artist with integrity who won`t sell out no matter how big the price.

He has pissed on the Zeppelin reunion constantly, except around 1985 where rehersals did take place and 1990 after the "Remasters" hype.

He never seems comfortable with Jason Bonham playing drums for some reason either, although Page and Jones are.

Nope, I think we`ll all have to wait until Plant himself dies before the Zeppelin name is resurrected.

There`s more chance of that than anything else.

Zep is the past ! So what ?

As Plant is constantly touring why should he worry.

And i really dig his solo stuff up 'til today.

6.4 million? Even in pounds, that's chump change. Something doesn't sound right here...

                  1. It IS a story the Sun ran in 2002. It is 5 years old.

                  2. Fuck the Sun.....they are just a tabloid.

                  3. Robert Plant looks like facking hell in that photo.

                  4. When I saw him at the Ryman year before last, he was not too bad. Certainly not like he was when he was 25, but if they were to do a reunion tour, I would be satisfied with his vocal ability provided he did not have strep throat or something like that....certainly if Jason Bonham were the skin beater....

If he could sing as well as he did when I saw him it would be perfectly acceptable.

LEGENDARY rockers Led Zeppelin are set to re-group after 22 years for a money-spinning stadium tour of America.

The three surviving members — singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones — plan to hit the road next summer.

The trio hope to pocket £6.4million for the shows.

Robert, 54, Jimmy, 58, and 56-year-old John Paul met two weeks ago at the offices of their management firm Trinifold.

They buried the hatchet over Page and Plant’s 1990s tour, which John Paul only learned about from a newspaper.

A band insider said last night: “If the right offer comes up they will do it.”

Trinifold added: “Jimmy is itching to do something, but there is nothing firm yet.”

Zeppelin split in 1980 after a booze binge killed drummer John Bonham.

His son Jason is set to play drums on the tour.

The band, famed for songs like Stairway to Heaven and Whole Lotta Love, are second only to the Beatles in worldwide album sales.

They still hold records for crowds at their 1970s concerts.

A music industry insider said: “They had so many hits that I am sure the reunion would be a major success.”

Well, I'll believe it when I see it.

I thought Zep's worlwide was bigger than the Beatles???

I thought Zep has sold more than 200 million+ worldwide?

I doubt very much if this happened.

                        Then again, it just might.

But don't look for the reformed 'trio' and Bonham's son Jason to even think to call themselves 'Led Zeppelin' -- I think they'll call themselves something else (ala what Dio and Sabbath are doing - 'Heaven and Hell'.)

How about 'Zoso' as a name?

This article came out in late 02 when there was speculation that there could be a reunion tour based on the hype of the Zeppelin DVD, which was released late spring 03. Plant has solo tour dates scheduled in July 07. I would be the 1st in line if it ever happens, but IMO it won't ever go down. Page and Plant in 95and 98 is as close as we will ever get. Those performances were stellar, and for them that was there closure.

Zeppelin was about mystery, and that would be shattered if they reformed and sucked (lets be honest they could never come close to the expectation, could they?)

Having said that if they did reform, i'd be first in line!

Well I read this thread a few days back and got excited.
                                Now it seems debunked..

Should be used to it, yet still Im dissapointed. I would
have gone to this one for sure. Having Bonham's
son gives them validity to call it Led Zeppelin..

Death is the only exception for replacing an original
member of a lineup. The replacement being the blood
of the deceased original, makes it even more valid..

I would have paid $200 to see this.

What a shame.. biggest let down since we heard about
