    Fuckin' Jake E. Lee

Alright, certainly not a pioneer like EVH, but holy shit! Heard "Bark at the Moon" today on the radio and remembered how much I loved that fucking song. Totally forgot about Jake E. Lee even though I loved him in my eighties guitar slinging days. So, downloaded it and went to youtube to see what they had. Oh my God!

Alright, if you're interested, start with him playing it live:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Then check this fucking dude recording a close up of how to play:

Playing the game Guitar Hero is fun, but doing it for real is even better. Jake E. Lee would be proud. Special thanks to Guitar Chaos for the jam track.Be ...

I hope the links work. They do for me, but I may be making a simple mistake.

But if not, do a search for Jake e lee on youtube. The "Real guitar hero" link is the one with the dude showing how to play

Makes me want to give up guitar... Not really, but did I mention holy fucking shit!!!???

Clear props to Hendrix with his movements. I wonder if anyone in the audience caught it...

I certainly wouldn't have back when I was a snot nosed teen

            Amazing watching it now.

Jake E. Lee was a fucking bad-ass guitar player!

One of the greats for sure.

After his Badlands thing (1989??), not sure what happened to him.

He's released tow solo records: one instrumental Zappa-esque one "Fine Pink Mist" and another of blues playing, the title of which I forget entirely...

Jake rocks. You could saw off his left pinkie finger and he'd still play the same.

                      Live spotlight solo...

Fuck dude, just got a chance to watch that.

My friggin' God! Thanks for the post.

I remember being so stoked by Jake in the eighties but we didn't have youtube back then, heh? Amazing getting to see these videos. Absolutely amazing.

And yes I agree with the statement that Jake clearly outshines and outplays pretty much every other guitarist of the era. I mean, I know Ozzy has alot to do with this, but there are very few guitarists of the "hair band" era that people don't make fun of when it's played on the radio. And yes, there are lots of guitarists from the time that I loved then, and kinda chuckle at now.

Even if I like their music a bit.

Just have to say again, Jake rocks. His solo collection is under rated. His newest cover cd is super great.
