I've seen 'em. One of the best nights I've had. But arrived late, missing Gettin' Better damn

I like Tesla . I believe they are underated / appreciated . I saw them open for Def Leppard
in the round at the old St. Louis Arena in about '86 or '87 . They did a good warm up show .
The went over well with the crowd . They were not flashy or over the top like most bands from that era . They kept it straight forward and well paced .
I'm a fan of Love Song and What You Give especially . Seems like they come through here at least once a year .Comment

I saw Tesla open for Diamond Dave early in 87 after Cinderella jumped to opening for Bon Jovi. Modern Day Cowboy was pretty fresh on MTV. I remember reading a quote from Dave where he supposedly said that it was nice "not having a bunch of glam rock ripoffs" opening. I don't think Tesla would be your prototypical hairband but they were lumped in by association. I also saw them open for Leppard early on Hysteria like others have mentioned. I always thought they were straight up hard rock without gimmicks - ie- blue jeans instead of leather and no eye liner bullshit. I like all of their studio stuff but that 5 Man Accoustical Jam annoys me. That pretty much killed them. Once GNR came out with the Lies record and MTV started their Unplugged show, everyone thought they had to do something acoustic including Tesla. They went for the cash grab and scored a hit with Signs but then no one ever gave their records a chance after that even though they did some good stuff. I would still go see Tesla any day of the week. I damn sure can't say that about most of the other so called hairbands.RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE

I have to back Eddie up on that one because i think most of the bands do get offended by it. If the term equalled money i'm sure no one would mind. However, most of the time when you hear that term it is something relative to "they were just a hairband" which in most people's mind means something equivalant to the 3 W's of death - Warrant, Winger and White Lion. Tesla wouldn't want to be associated with such pestalence.RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE
