No one will play it. No one outside of KISS fans will buy it.

The music scene is dead. It's all American Idol bullshit faggotry, hip hop/r&b bullshit where every song sounds the same, or these fakes like Coldplay.

Ace's album will likely rock, but it'll get no push from the company, no airplay, and in this generation of "CD skip-button, and download only one song from this album and that album" idiot kids, will not get any due.
    Stay Frosty, muthas!

5/25/07: Stopped by an visited my old friend Ace Frehley last night at the NYC studio where he is now mixing his upcoming CD.
Ace is doing so well, is totally healthy and just in a great place now. I am very proud of him.
Ace has recorded 10 new songs so far and is completing 3 to use as a demo for now. I can tell you there is some strong label interest so he will no doubt have several options to release it.
I heard 2 of the 3 new songs that are being finalized and I must say I was really impressed with them. It is classic sounding Ace singing and playing. One track had a vocal from Ace that almost had a Beatles type vibe, but still rockin.
You will also be happy to know that Ace plays all guitar and sings all vocals. The recordings were made with a trio of Ace, Anton Fig on drums and new bassist Anthony Esposito (Lynch Mob). The touring band will be Ace, Anthony and other players TBA.
Ace also told me he wrote all the songs just before going into the studio, so this is all fresh stuff. I'm really excited by the two songs I heard. It is by far the most "Kiss-like" music from any past or present member of the bands respective solo albums.
We hung out for a couple hours, talked about the old days and had some Japanese food. Really fun night and was great to see him as always.
More news when I can share it and of course keep an ear on the radio shows and to this site for all the exclusive Ace news and music.
      Ace is back!

PS: There is NO set release date or live shows yet, when there is I will post!

      Eddie Trunk

I hope Ace can do it. It would drive Gene & Paul nuts! Their recent solo albums didn't sell shit!

Let's have a 1978 replay where Ace out-sells all the other Kiss solo projects!

      Anybody else in Ace's corner?

Was it ever about the money? It rocks or it doesn't.

I was going to do those chicks but then I could smell Binn all over them and told them I had AIDS and got the hell out of Dodge.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

          No it isn't...

The music scene is booming with all kinds of music, including Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Punk, etc. along with everything else...

What i'm saying is every category, sub category, and sub sub category is filled with all kinds of material, some good, some bad. Sifting through it is difficult though...

I hang out with these two musicians in Church who turn me on to all kinds of stuff and I do the same for them. One is into hard rock and metal and the other is into indie rock, obscure vintage stuff (blame me for that one...) and all kinds of trippy Pink Floyd type sounding stuff...

Dude, a record company could put the biggest advertising campaign in history behind an Ace Frehley album and it wouldn't do any better than say DLRBand...

And i'm just using Ace and Dave as an example, because it applies to any act who's popularity peaked nearly thirty years ago...

And there is always an exception to the rule, but acts that are, in reality, has-beens, will always have a limited market no matter how you push it...

But if the material is reasonably good, it will "get it's due" from people just like us...

Bullshit. The music scene is doing NOTHING. If we have to go underground to find anything any good, and surf websites to get music from bands, it sucks!

Used to be that bands put out records. Bands that had to work hard to get noticed by a record company. Records that were at least somewhat complete. You put them on, listened to them all the way through, then put on another album. You had to go to a store to buy them.

Now, we have this generation of American Idol watching losers, and people who grew up first with CDs, which was much easier to click your remote to skip a song, and now have ipods, mp3, etc, where they go onto a computer, download ONE FUCKING SONG from an album, then move on to another artist and download ONE FUCKING SONG. Why bother to work hard to put together your Sgt. Pepper, when you can go on tv, have someone vote for you to create pop pablum, and then make a shitty album with one song teeny boppers will like and download for $.99?

Record stores are going out of business. The world famous Sam The Record Man in Toronto announced they will close their flagship store. They can't compete anymore. Tower Records, RIP. HMV in trouble....etc.

Don't tell me how the music business is great. When's the last time you heard a good new tune rocking on the radio?

                  i know what you mean.
my record label folded and went belly up before getting my first album released.
the record store i worked at for 4 years just went out of business last december, and we were a mostly vinyl store.

so yeah, i'd agree with you that the current state of things is really fucked.

That's great news about Ace and a new album!

I'm sure it will rock. It can't get any worse than Gene and Paul's recent solo releases.

Ace will once again show that HE is KISS!

As far as it selling --- no. It will sell next to nothing. Who knows? Maybe some of the young shits will dig it.

A new KISS record won't sell anywhere near gold status, so an Ace solo album won't tear the world over either.

But, it will ROCK, that I'm certain of.

Dude, that blows! Some of my best memories as a kid are spending hours in a record store, pouring over all the albums, reading the record jacket, hearing a tune being played that I liked and asking the sales person who it was....

One is the new Ozzy song, I don't wanna Stop...

Another is green day, Working Class Hero...

And believe it or not 106.3 here in New Orleans played the new Megadeth the other day, which is one of the best and heaviest things I've heard on the radio ever! I was blown away...

And as far as recent good rock albums, the latest Iron Maiden is really good. Thje new Megadeth is suprisingly good and catchy. The new Ozzy Osbourne is good and debuted at #3 on the charts...

And no, American Idol didn't tell me to listen to any of it...

And I like American Idol by the way...

What part of Canada are you in? The radio must suck there...

I was just thinking to myself the other morning as I was comming home from work, how heavy and good this New Orleans radio station had become...
