something about i would hate to see vanhalen tarnish their image.

well in this case, i really would hate to see led zepplin tarnish their image.
they are the rock gods and after the nevelty wears off i see the critics hammering them, i dont want to see the led zepplin story on any tv program and it shows the final chapter of led zepplin as a novelty act.

which from the sound of those tubes is all it possibly can be.

if there has ever been a cash grab, this is it.

i just watched a couple again at lower volume and its not terrible.

i guess i watch the dvds that zepplin has out too often, and expected too much.
maybe i would say vanhalen 2007 sounds like shit if i had dvds of them in their prime.

thats as good of an appology youll get out of me for blasting them.

Don't think you have anything to feel sorry about.

Zep aren't some sacred thing where everything they do is brilliant by default. No rock band is.

It wasn't terrible, IMO. Fine enough for a one-off. Hardly the best the band ever was live, although I doubt few expected them to be. Nothing that brilliant going on, either. Plant's voice isn't really up to it. Jones and Bonham were solid. Page did a decent job.

I'd be content to see them leave it alone, myself, but whatever they decide to do from here isn't gonna diminish the brilliance of the Zeppelin music, at least not on the albums I still play with a fair amount of regularity.
