Nightwish. (with the new singer, imo...)
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Lacuna Coil are actually pretty decent, they have some really strong tunes....

        The Donnas rock my socks...

Not the best by a long margin, but I figured they deserved honorable mention...

Depends on your definition of "rock".
Some of the bands mentioned definatly never
                played what I call rock.
                Some I never heard of.
Some were only mentioned for humor.
Heart was probably the most succesful.
Pat Benatar was capable of rock but mixed in the pop.
                Janis Joplin rocked.
Rossington/Collins had a couple "southern rock" hits.
Alana Myles (not sure of the spelling ) did a good job on
                "Black Vevet"
                Nobody mentioned "Fleetwood Mac"
                Stevie was a hottie .
Some L A dj once said she sounde like she was riding a black and decker vibrater while she sang.
