wooooahhhh....I never said the "Paul Is Dead" thing wasn't a hoax, what I said (educated you on) was the history of the hoax. The Beatles had nothing to do with it. The whole thing started with a radio station in Detroit and led to people looking for clues. Anything can be read as a clue to something. Just today I was in a bookstore and saw a book called 3:16 talking about its strong religous meaning "God begave his only begotten son...". Got me to seeing how someone could read this as "ok, Eddie Van Halen has a son born on 3/16 and his solo is called 316"....see what I am getting at? Same thing happened with the Paul Is Dead nonsense.
As for Sir Paul, I don't think your babbling is going to cost him any album sales our tour revenue.

The reference to the"House of Paul" in "Blue Jay Way" , a
song about a car wreck is evidence you are misstaken.
It might not have been their idea but they were aware.
Paul or John could have come out and stopped it anytime
      but chose not too.

I will conceede maybe the Beatles got where they got by
talent alone. Obviously a lot of people would agree.
My "theory" was perhaps too harsh but some people
who did support the Beatles in the beginning had to
take into consideration how acceptable they would
      be to parents.

As for Sir Paul it just shows how different times are
      today.
Back in the old days being accepted by the Queen
would have been a bad thing.
Teenagers would have burn his records.
The whole idea of royalty is so out of touch with
      reality anyway.

ohhhh.....my......god! If you've ever heard about The Beatles thoughts on the Paul is Dead stuff, (and you haven't) you would see they were getting a big laugh out of it by the time they heard about it! You have to remember the "hoax" didn't come out until late in their careers, around the time they were recording The White Album. They saw it as a joke and played along. Yes, Paul McCartney did come out shortly after and say it was a joke. Why would they make this up? The last thing they needed to do was try to sell more records.
As for their recognition by the queen, John Lennon shortly later returned his MBE to the queen in protest. The others took the honor with a ho-hum effect. Don't try to tell me you actually believe The Beatles bowed to authority later in their career. Have you ever heard "Revolution"? "If you go pictures of Chairman Mao, you aint gonna make it with anyone anyhow"...."I'm So Tired:" "and curse Sir Walter Riley, he was such a stupid get".
The U.S. government was in such fear of the power John Lennon had over the youth that the Nixon Administration put the CIA on him and tried to get him kicked out of the country.
Sorry, you are wrong again.....NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Dude , You just admitted I was right .
"They saw it as a joke and played along"
          Your words.
It's not that big a deal , actually whoever came up with it
          was a genious.
I am aware of the political influence of John Lennon.
I always thought he was a wierdo.
Since you're such a Beatlephile , what credibility do you
give to Sean Lennons claim of a conspiracy in the death
          of his dad.
He claimed the gov't was behind it because of his political
          influence.
Bullshit , his clout was minumul , Reagan was already
          elected.
He was killed by a nutcase.

Actually your initial statement was that The Beatles intentionally started the Paul Is Dead hoax which they did not. It is kind of like the Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds joke in which fans thought it meant LSD...fans can read into anything.
Obviously there is no way that Lennon's death was any conspiracy. He was killed by a wacko who was trying to impress Jody Foster. Funny thing about Lennon and Reagan....Howard Cossell used to tell the story of broadcasting a Monday Night Football game in New York, looking over and seeing Reagan with his arm around Lennon in a suite talking. Cossell interviewed Lennon during halftime, asked him what they were talking about and Lennon said Reagan was explaining football to him.

                I reread that post.
                Jody Foster?

The guy that shot REAGAN was into Jody Foster.
The guy that shot Lennon thought he was Lennon.

What Reagan really told Lennon was "If I ever get elected
president I'll have your limey ass killed, you filthy hippy"
                And he did.

I always loved the Paul is dead hoax stuff.Really kind of genius for the Beatles to have fun with it as they did.I have the magazine on the right if you can believe that.

To answer the Zep question for what they would of done next i could of sworn I read Page say the follow up would of been their hardest record to date.If wearing and tearing were any indication of what was to come would of been pretty cool.Who knows they could of done all acoustic for all we know.

And another masterpiece by the genius that was John Lennon:

                      Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
                      They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
                      Possessing and caressing me

                      Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
                      Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
                      they tumble blindly as

Elvis was extremely jealous of The Beatles (rightfully so). During their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, Ed read a telegram from Elvis wishing them luck. However, it actually was sent from Col. Tom Parker who was trying to capitalize on the publicity, Elvis was furious when he heard about this. He clearly saw his empire had crumbled.
