I had a thread at another site with dozens of these damned things. Now roughly 95% of them have been pulled. Sadly, the handful that you posted are about all that remain at this time.

I always did find it ironic that Van HALEN played Montrose covers in the clubs. Especially given Dave's claims that he's never had to sing a Sammy Hagar song.

                  From 1975

This tune is not the Rolling Stones song of the same name. It is in fact a Billy Gibbons' original from ZZ Top's First Album.

                  <object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ThhXpq-DfjM&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&bo rder=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ThhXpq-DfjM&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&bo rder=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="445" height="364"></embed></object>

This track is from The Edgar Winter Group's They Only Come Out At Night release, which featured Ronnie Montrose on lead guitar. It was also one of the first albums I ever bought with my own cash, back in 1973.

The Rock-n-Roll All Nite, Eddie fucking rips that solo. I understand now why Gene wanted to steal Ed for Ki$$ back when Ace/Peter were melting down.

That's not a cover. The tune is an unreleased VH track called Down In Flames.

From 1975, footage from 1982 or so. Once again, the solo begins in Ace territory and ends up on Ed's doorstep.
