Seriously, this is gonna sound crazy but I think Asylum might be my favorite KISS album!

I'm not going to say that, but I LOVED Asylum!

I loved "Lick It Up" and "Asylum" but I thought (and still think) "Animalize" sucks ass.

Whenever I read retrospectives of 80's Ki$$ they always say how great it is/was.

What?

One killer song in "Heaven's On Fire" and maybe one or two others past muster, but Gene's songs are ALL shit on that LP and "Thrill In The Night" is plain boring.

And Mark St. John (God rest his soul) totally had no ear for melody, his solos are all over the place.

I think maybe "Animalize" capitalized on the quality of "Creatures..." and "Lick It Up", whereas "Asylum" suffered because "Animalize" was so poor.

"Animalize Live Uncensored" was a great concert, though.

I hate to say this but I like KISS more without the makeup! Yes there was alot of great shit in the 70's LOVE GUN ETC ETC....

I have phases of that,Glad to see it is not just me.Paul's voice was definetly at its strongest during the makeup less period.Revenge is one of my favorite albums.I love all the glitter and colorful spandex.I love the who wants to be lonely video too .Great song

Mark St. John is very mediocre.
I love the Kulick material way better awesome riffs, great solos.... REVENGE is another classic!!!!

I like around half the songs on Animalize.I think I've Had Enough(into the fire) and Heavens on Fire are really good.I like Thrills in the Night,Get All You Can Take and Under the Gun well enough.Funny enough all Paul's songs.I agree Gene's songs are not the best on that album
