Personally, I think she was over-qualified for the Michael Jackson gig. She will eventually make a name for herself, regardless.
Capturing Steve Vai's attention (away from himself, of course) is an accomplishment within itself.

Hopefully, she'll end up in a band with equally talented musicians. Otherwise, she'll end up with a bunch of scrubs trying to play catch-up all the time.
Everyone on this side of the ocean is already aware of the fact that she's a badass...

I should have searched first. Since the site came back I've been kinda lost on the layout. I liked the old layout better and this one just doesn't appeal to me much so I normally come here several times a week just to check out the latest news. I haven't checked out any of the links above so I apologize for that. I also don't feel the need to pad my post count or get into petty arguments like a few folks round here so if there isn't any topic or so that interest me I just swing on through without comment. I won't make the mistake of a dupe topic again now that I've checked out a few of the links. But since this is already here, here's a good BB King cover:

Her time with MJ was short but before that she already knew Vai when she was 15 when her band opened for him. At 18 she jammed Santana . She also played at the Crossroads festival. That's a pretty good resume already.

I've heard people say she sounds a little like Carlos Santana. Maybe the later stuff, but not the raw, smokin' earlier stuff.

So here's an interesting story. Having not seen this thread, I walked into my living room this morning, stretching, yawning, etc. The TV had been left on VH1 last night and I see this girl on TV doing this teenie-bopper Disney-esque song called "According to You". I think to myself Oh how cute! They gave her a guitar so that she can be a real musician! Isn't that precious?

And then she played and I shit myself.

Buying the album later today. :D
