I`ve had a good few solid listens at the right volume and I believe this is the best album since the 80`s.

I know that`s been said many times but there isn`t a weak link on this album.

Even "El Dorado" sounds better quality than the free download.

"The Talisman", "Isle of Avalon" and "Starblind" rock, I shouldn`t even single them out as they are all good.

"BNW", "DOD" and especially "AMOLAD" all had weak and cliched moments but this is the real deal.

Man, that is some pretty high praise for TFF. I think I still have Brave New World ahead. Still tough to top Wiker Man, Ghost of the Nvg, BNW, Blood Brothers, Silent Planet.

Listened another time yesterday to TFF, but I was doing to much actual work to take much in. Though I am diggin Isle of Avalon a bit more on second listen. Still not a huge fan of the slow build up, but the middle section is rockin.

Talisman is better on 2nd listen as well.

I think quite a few people will get into this disk once it is released worldwide on the 16th & 17th.

OK...I just "obtained" it myself this morning...I dig the hell out of Satellite 15/The Final Frontier, am definitely liking El Dorado more, enjoy Mother of Mercy and The Alchemist (which I'm thinking about retitling "Strange Alchemy" on my MP3 player so I don't get it mixed up with Bruce's solo track of the same name)...and I like Where the Wild Wind Blows on a lyrical level.

Other than that, I found it a fairly formulaic Maiden album, although I do enjoy it and can see myself giving it quite a few listens. Overall I think it's a pretty good spin.

If I had one track to toss away, it'd be Isle of Avalon hands down.

Looks like Maiden or at least their crew and friends still like to party.

This pic is up on the official site. it is the Bar tab from Bergen.

Picked this up yesterday. I really like this record so far. I think Starblind is my favorite at this point. Well worth the price. Everyone needs to up the irons and get out and buy this.

Early word is that Maiden's TFF is on Pace to sell around 65,000 to 70,000 copies in the US this week. That would land it about #3 on the US Billboard Top 200.

Hopefully they do some good business this weekend. They need to sell a few more to get past Eminem and Arcade Fire.

Worldwide they are going to hit #1 in Finland, Germany and several other Euro Countries. The UK should be top 5 as well.

I've listened to this 3 times thus far and it just gets better. Starblind is still my favorite song but i can't find a bad tune on this thing. I am really impressed.

I hear more and more of it in the style of Dickinson`s solo work.

"Satellite 15" is like "Mars within" from "Tyranny of souls", "Coming home" is very much a Bruce solo album ballad ala "The Chemical wedding" or "Tears of the dragon" and "Starblind" sounds a lot like "Skunkworks".

                    Maybe it`s just my ears.

                    I like it, though.

Starblind is getting a lot of buzz on the different Iron Maiden Boards. Some pretty deep Lyrics from Bruce. Quite a commentary on Bruce's view of mass organized religions

one thing with the devore show, is that you are forgetting they ended the night with "running free".
they did play "different world", "wildest dreams", and "rainmaker".
"revelations" also was in the set.
dedicating "blood brothers" to R.J.D. was a classy touch.
but why the hell was some fucking dude down in the front flashing bruce for?
the devore show was a setlist more balanced between old and new material because i think iron maiden were trying to make up for the fucking sharon cunt disaster from 5 years ago.
i know because i was at the ozzfest in 2005 when it occured.
i do believe the devore show to be the only gig where they did a more balanced setlist.
the stage set was really fucking cool. the video screens, out in the lawn, when eddie comes out, the new eddie, who looks more evil
and terrifying than ever, his eyes are video cameras. so the video screens showed you what eddie was seeing.
                          eddie even played a guitar.
i have to say it was one of the best iron maiden shows i have ever been to.

ACE, I think your memory was a bit off. No "Revelations" at his show. Also no Rainmaker and no different world. I think you mixed up your newer 2000s tracks.

Here is the Setlist from 6/19/10 San Bernardino. The only change SB got was that they played Paschedale instead of Dance of Death in the #5 spot. Early in the tour they were still rotating the #5 spot.

                              The Wicker Man

                              El Dorado
                              Paschendale
                              The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg

I grabbed it the day it came out and it is very good. I love El Dorado and also the title track kicks into high gear midway through. Just a damn good metal album!
