How can you "expand" vinyl, unless adding a second record? The CDs could be a different story, including studio chatter and outtakes, like the bit of Randy working on "Dee" from the Tribute album. There were a few mentions at Braveworlds last year, but since then, nothing:
Exclusive Update: OZZY OSBOURNE - Blizzard, Diary 30th Anniversary Editions Due Out By US Thanksgiving; Randy Rhoads Video Footage Being Worked On
Rarities

As previously reported by BLACK SABBATH News last week, 30th Anniversary Editions of OZZY OSBOURNE's first two legendary solo albums featuring the late guitarist Randy Rhoads - Blizzard Of Ozz (1980) and Diary Of A Madman (1981) - are due out later this year.
"They definitely are coming out this year," Sharon Osbourne told BraveWords.com a few hours ago today (May 19th). "They are coming out for (US) Thanksgiving and they will be on the market then. It's going back to the original recordings with (Bob) Daisley (bass) and (Lee) Kerslake (drums). And there will be a lot of stuff that you haven't heard before in the packages. Like certain conversations that were going on in the studio with the guys just messing around while the tape was still rolling. All of that will be added into it."
Ozzy added jokingly - "Do I sing good?"
Sharon - "Fabulous!"
There's also talk of some visuals in the archives with Randy Rhoads? "There's two shows that we have in the archives that we are working on right now," Sharon reveals. "Of course in those days, the tapes were like twenty minutes and then you had to change the tape. So we're trying to clean it up, make sense of it. So we are working on it, along with another film we have of Randy. It will all be boxed together and it should be a great piece to have for a real fan. It will be an amazing piece."
Since their initial release twenty-three years ago, Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman have sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
While I usually call "bullshit" on people who post info taken from 'insider sources' I have some info regarding the video end of the proposed upcoming Blizzard/Diary releases.
Longtime friend of mine (have known the dude since we were 10 years old) works in the music biz. About two years ago, he was assigned to work with the Osbournes for a short period, roughly three weeks. During that period, he offered technical advice on visual and audio restoration specifically involving the tv studio shot footage of the Diary Of A Madman tour lineup (Osbourne, Rhoads, Sarzo, Aldridge) playing live that has been heavily bootlegged and circulated. Some of this footage was included in the Tribute album "Crazy Train" video from the late 1980s. My friend stated that at the time the Osbournes were considering entering an agreement or business arrangement with the dude who was trying to cobble together a Rhoads documentary, and were in the initial stages of exploring how to restore footage and soundtracks from the RR period.
When I asked my friend what happened since then with the project, he said he had no idea what the status of it was as of late. While he was in the course of working with the footage the Osbournes told him then that they were contemplating co-production on that proposed documentary. However, as he was just there as a technical advisor, the business aspects of utilizing the footage beyond restoration weren't something he was concerned with. He also said he wasn't provided any footage other than the tv show to work on, so he has no idea what other visual RR materials the Osbournes have in storage.
My guess would be that said tv show would probably be the centerpiece of any hypothetical commemorative RR Blizzard/Diary reissue, as it was fairly clear the Osbournes had ownership rights to that show. If they have any pro-shot, multi-camera angle footage of any Ozzy gigs featuring RR is something I have no clue about, although it'd be surprising if it were so (if only in that the stuff hadn't leaked out into circulation by now.Last edited by Terry; 02-23-2011, 10:26 PM.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

dude, what does my grandmothers' murder have to do with spinal tap?
how rude.
i gave the eulogy in 2006 when we buried grandma's urn in the urn garden at mesa city cemetary
in mesa arizona.
mom tried, but she was too choked up after about 2 words.
earlier that day, i took my mothers place as one of the pall bearers for aunt pat's casket.
dude, please don't be an ass on this one.
shirley ingalls is in the urn garden, and aunt pat, patricia asher, is buried sadly in an unmarked grave.
the rest of the family was supposed to pay for her headstone.
instead they spent the money on dope and booze.
mom and i are none to pleased about it.
if mother and i could afford it, aunt pat would have a headstone marker.
as it stands, it's too much money.Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!Comment

after aunt pat's casket was lowered into the ground of a regular grave plot,
mom and i went to the office there at the graveyard, i got grandma shirly's urn, i carried it to the urn garden,
i gave the eulogy, i put the urn in the ground at the urn garden, i put 2 quarters on it so she could pay the ferry man to cross the river,
aunt pat was buried with her 2 quarters in a small pouch around her neck.
i stood there while the cemetary guy put the cement in on top of it.
i very sternly told him not to touch the quarters.
he did not.
once the cement was in and leveled off, the lid was sealed on.
i've been back to see grandma, aunt pat, and even great-grandma jewel is buried there.
mom, her hubby, and i visited there last year together.Originally posted by hideyoursheepWhen Hagar speaks, I want to cut off my ears and send them to Bristol Palin.Comment

wrong on all counts.
she liked to sing church hymns and country along with the radio while chain smoking and not rolling the windows of the fucking car down because
she was afraid her wig might blow off her head.
grandma shirley was absolutely and certifiably fucking crazy.
she did too many drugs in the 60's and it made her nuts.
she somehow lost her hair and started wearing wigs around the same time.
mom has some pictures that i've seen.Originally posted by hideyoursheepWhen Hagar speaks, I want to cut off my ears and send them to Bristol Palin.Comment
