Was it really Whitney fans buying, or was it Hagar, desperate to keep ADKOT out of the #1 spot?

Yeah, the psychology around these things is weird. I admit when MJ died I bought a copy of Thriller. Not sure why. Great album. Maybe because all the news & clips I was hearing reminded me how great it was and drove me out to purchase it.

Or maybe it was because stacks of Thriller cd's were at every drug store-grocery store-convenience store-department stores checkout lane? I'm horrible with the impulse items.

1 day of sales at #1 couldn't be enough to stop a weeklong release? Could it? Fuck.

                Her career wasn't entirely pointless.

There is a songwriter called Nick Lowe who is a totally nice guy and very talented in his not so popular field.

I admit it's not really my thing but I'm glad he does it.

He wrote a song which by a strange accident ended up being recorded by Curt Stigers and by a stranger accident ended up on the B side of the Bodyguard soundtrack as is the way of these kind of songs.

Except in this case because of a IMHO a spectacularly over rated song which is incidentally in the worlds absolute fucking easiest key to sing(try it, almost anyone can sing those notes), the soundtrack goes on to sell 44 million fucking copies.

This meant that Nick could continue doing his beloved song writing comfortably and quietly funded by this dumb album for the rest of his life and I think that's kind of cool.

Sometimes I wonder if my posts would be better narrated in black and white video with a city skyline in the background...

Yeah, I would say Nazi Germany proved mass group behaviour can be more than a bit scary.

                        You miss my point.

America is the home of Hollywood. Fact is, there is romanticized view of celebrities who have kicked the bucket early because of drug abuse, alcohol abuse, prescription drug abuse or whatever else the cause of their death may have been.

                              RIP, Whitney

At one point in her life she had a hell of a voice, a hell of a stage presence....
I can still enjoy her music from then,
AND be sorry that she couldn't handle all that came with it....

people are people, famous or not....and she made points in my life better.
for that, I thank her and hope that she truly will Rest in Peace.
