I remember buying this on VHS back then - what, 1980? Probably for a cash amount that would buy you a DVD player today (anyone else remember when VHS tapes were, like £40-50 quid - whatever that was in dollars).

Maiden were always quick on the uptake with video, though, and liked to film shows and get the stuff out there (are you reading this Ed ...)

I kinda lost interest in them around Piece of Mind, 'cos I basically didn't really care for Bruce's vox.

            Add another.

I lost interest after Number of the Beast.

I think it was because with Bruce(the Hagar of Iron Maiden) they lost their punkiness, the vocal melodies suffered as well plus Clive Burr was a better drummer.

I get that.I love the Paul stuff,i probably give his albums more play time than the bruce ones. One thing i have to say is most of the Paul stuff has aged terribly, charlotte the harlot makes me cringe

I do love the Bruce stuff though.

That song made me veto Charlotte as a name for a daughter when it was suggested...

I can understand why people would find Bruce's vocals too much - although his vocal lines are far, far superior to Di'anno's.

But Burr a better drummer than Nikko? Come one......

Bring your daughter, Holy Smoke, Fear of the dark, those are the newer Maiden songs I hear regularly and to me those have completely thoughtless vocal lines.

Burr was more subtle that McBrain who is a lowest common denominator drummer IMHO although I'm not a drummer.

I know absolutely nothing about drumming but i prefer Nikko.I am a little biased though because I have a signed Nikko drum skin from 2006

Those songs were recorded in the '90s. It was over by then.

The melodies on 'Piece of Mind', 'Powerslave' and (mostly) 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' are stellar.

Number of the beast is the best maiden album whoever is singing and piece of mind still sounds great today ....tho am biased i do think the two di anno albums are great but i prefer the following brucey ones up to when adrian smith left .. tho their last album i really enjoyed .
But in truth i cant stand paul di anno he is the biggest cock in rock n roll... an industry full of them
                              fuck your fucking framing
