I loved Styx. Crystal Ball, Grand Illusion, Equinox...and for the record "Crystal Ball" was written and sung by Tommy Shaw. "Boat on the River" is one of my all-time favourite songs!

It's good that you loved Styx: to each their own.

I wouldn't necessarily say I hated Styx...they've just never been a band that was really important to me.

They were never important to me....I have never owned any of their records, though I did see them live once.

I also think Paradise Theater was their last good album. Can't deny they were a good, solid, hard rock band born out of the heartland of America.

And I deeply think that a song like 'Eddie', on Cornerstone, buries the whole Paradise album. Styx could Really Rock, 'Eddie' (like the one we know and worship) is the proof.

The only version of Beth that didn't make me want to vomit was the unplugged version from 1995. Still a sappy assed mellow song, but at least it was acoustic guitars and not the Velveeta string orchestra....
