Black Sabbath Album "13" due in June

I'm waiting for the album to be released to listen...I'm not holding out much hope based on the comments.

I'm not one who hates Technical Ecstasy or Never Say Die. Love those albums. Frankly, the first 11 are all good. I'm just hoping they can put out something along the lines of The Devil You Know, and not along the lines of Forbidden.

I'm not one who hates Technical Ecstasy or Never Say Die. Love those albums. Frankly, the first 11 are all good. I'm just hoping they can put out something along the lines of The Devil You Know, and not along the lines of Forbidden.

That is the big question in my mind...how does is stack up against the Heaven and Hell record? To my taste, The Devil You Know was plodding but the music was good enough to keep me interested. Is this up there with that, a little better, or below that?

It's difficult to compare. It's certainly got a warmer feel - it's far bluesier than the Heaven & Hell record - but it probably won't make you punch the air and headbang as much. There were certainly weak spots on H & H, but it fuckin' kicked in places too. It also oozed charisma.

So, I'd say H & H is the surperior record but not by much. The main problem with '13' is that the songs still feel like jams in many places.

Don't hate 'Technical Ecstasy' or 'Never Say Die' (in fact, I think 'Technical' is underated) but they were a noticeable step down from the first 6.....

Johnny Blade and Junior's Eyes are incredible in my humble opinion.
