Actually funny story. A friend and I were riding and he said "lets go to your shop". OK, so we ride there and he had some coke and wanted to do it. So we do some and then I lock the place and we get back on the bikes. Mine are old so I have to kickstart, and I do this but just before we spit I realize that I have no helmet on. Totally blew it off and left it in the shop. I shut the bike down, and he says "what's up" (not seeing the missing helmet) I point at my head and he says "That why they call it dope". I laughed like a fuck because he was right.......

Turns out that statement was more prophetic than Dave even realized. The US festival was the last show The Clash ever did
And their best drummer, Topper was already long gone by then. Terry Chimes (who was their original drummer) actually came back for a while, including the 1982 tour with The Who. Can't remember why he left the band again.... so for this drummer Pete Howard, it was his first.... and last show with the REAL Clash.
(Though he did play on the half-assed scab "Cut the Crap" tour. Which everybody, including the late Joe Strummer, would rather forget ever happened)Eat Us And Smile
