Jesus......this thread reminds me of how awful the mainstream music of the 80's actually was!

How many times did Kiss say Crazy Nights in the song? Wasn't it like 30 something? And what is their definition of a crazy night? Obviously when Ace and Peter were around those nights were too crazy for their liking.

I think the grating thing comes from the overuse of the word crazy in a short song.

                      Paul sings cwazy 56 times in 3 minutes 40 seconds - that's a cwazy every 4 seconds!

Just stop after Alive II. Just stop and then you never have to listen to crap like this. You can actually stop after the live part you don't even have to listen to the studio side. God of Thunder, yada yada, wrap it up. No need to listen to anything else.

This is like Ozzy solo though, if you add up the years of good new material v mediocre it's incredible.

If what you're saying is true then Kiss were good for 4 years and then shit for the next 37 years...

Since the late seventies at least, Kiss has operated under the assumption that their audience are a bunch of meatheaded, drooling, buffoons. Unfortunately they assumed correctly and have been rewarded handsomely for it.

It's a miracle they ever got it together at all. They're like a bunch to troglodytes but they brought it in the mid 70s. Shit they didn't even do drugs. They can't even use massive cocaine intoxication as their excuse for the 80s like most decent 60s-70s rockers can. Kiss was just paid and didn't give a fuck.

Apparently the old phrase "fake it, 'til you make it" holds water, given how they added crowd noise (and the other overdubs) to that first live album...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?
