It's just my opinion. I have never been a huge fan of AC/DC but when I do listen to them, I listen to the Bon Scott stuff. They haven't made a truly great album in 30 years so my interest level is almost ZERO with that band.

The Burning of Washington in 1814 was an attack during the War of 1812 between British forces and those of the United States of America. On August 24, 1814, after defeating the Americans at the Battle of Bladensburg, a British force led by Major General Robert Ross occupied Washington City and set fire to many public buildings, including the White House (known as the presidential mansion at the time), and the Capitol, as well as other facilities of the U.S. government.[3] The attack was in part a retaliation to American actions in the Raid on Port Dover.

Throughout the history of the United States, the United Kingdom is the only country to have ever burned the White House or Washington, D.C., and this was the only time since the American Revolutionary War that a foreign power captured and occupied the United States capital.

Ummm...those "British" forces were comprised mainly of Canadian settler militia, First Nations and Metis. The war of 1812 is a defining moment in Canadian history....and like the Brits, we totally downplay the contributions made by the "Indians"...

*"Before Canada became a country, Britain's military alliances with First Nations were a key part of the defensive network of British North America. During the War of 1812, First Nations warriors and Métis fighters played important roles in the defence of these British territories against invading American forces. Thousands of First Nations warriors and Métis fighters fought beside British troops and Canadian settler militias during the war.

First Nations and Métis communities sided with the British during the war because they shared a common goal: to resist American expansion. More than 10,000 First Nations warriors from the Great Lakes region and the*St.Lawrence Valley participated in nearly every major battle. For British military leaders such as Major-General Sir Isaac Brock, commander of Britain's forces, First Nations warriors strengthened local garrisons and were seen as exceptional fighters." - https://www.aadnc-aandc.gc.ca/eng/13.../1338906300039

Robert-Ross et al would have been fucked, and Canada would not exist if it weren't for Warriors like Chief Tecumseh (true hero of that era)...

Johnson is obviously not as bad as Hagar. Aside from his "cat in the dryer" screeching, what he seems to lack is any diversity in songwriting.

AC/DC made 6 studio albums with Bon and each one is a very different record.

AC/DC with Brian Johnson has been making the same album over and over again since 1980.

There's the real difference as this Devil sees it.

Maybe he should put together a band with Pete Best. Hell, they could ask Dave Mustaine to play guitar, since he can't seem to keep a Megadeth lineup together.

You'd have to get Mark Stone on bass for that gig.

Classic. I do think the Bon stuff makes AC/DC a top 5 rock band. As far as Brain goes the guy is a cool dude but the story telling disappeared. Bon had the wit about the way he used words. Clever fucker. Back In Black, For Those About To Rock & Razors Edge were good. Fly & Switch had a few good tunes. As did Ballbreaker. I think Black Ice is really good but too long. This new one not bad. Good short tunes. Almost to simple ! But I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Not sure I want to see them without Mal. The Black Ice tour was great. So without Mal & probably Phil I think I'll pass.

'Rock Or Bust' is what it is - an AC/DC album. Nothing more, nothing less.

Stripping things back to the bare essentials works well for them........

I think one of the issues with several of the more recent AC/DC albums sounding the same is that Malcom and Angus are handling everything with regards to lyrics and music. Brian stopped writing back before Who Made Who, I believe.

I've got the new album and I was surprised at some of the cool riffs it contained. Again, the lyrics aren't what I'd necessarily prefer, but it is AC/DC. I'm glad these guys haven't changed like so many other bands have/had (Judas Priest - do you hear me? WTF was Turbo????).

Of course Brian isn't Bon. Unfortunately, we didn't get anything from Bon after Highway to Hell. That isn't Brian's fault and as a fan, I'm happy they continue. There sure isn't a lot out there that I like as much as this new AC/DC album.

I am not an AC DC fan.

But Brian Johnson sounds fantastic on this new album. If only DLR could still sing that well.

Whether or not he was ever a good singer, his voice actually sounds better now than ever on some of the songs.
